yeah, they can't call it a bluebird in north america because bluebird is a school bus manufacturer here. legal snafu

i think the datsun 510 series was a bluebird, and later the stanza was the bluebird sedan (don't think they sold the center-pillar-less hardtop here). when they made the altima, they sold it as the bluebird sedan in japan with a different looking hardtop not exported here. the hardtop was a lot more popular with jdm, so they soon dropped the altima and went on their own with the bluebird. i don't think subsequent altima models were sold in japan, the bluebird became a different beast altogether
