SR20DE Motor Mount ?????

I recently acquired a ’92 NX2000. Great car, runs good, but has one nasty feature: Extremely harsh buzzing & vibration on any throttle letoff – even in 5th gear. Acceleration is fine. No noise. Running down the highway is decent. But , the minute I let up on the throttle, the growling & vibrations really come through. Downshifting is bad, but not as bad as just letting off the throttle. I just drove this car 1200 miles from where I bought it and this behavior was very consistant. Drove great otherwise.

The motor runs smooth as silk, and the car has a new clutch. The shafts & joints all look good & have no unusual play in ‘em. Plus, the noise & vibration is the same now as before I put in the clutch. When I put in the clutch, I had to loosen the motor mounts in order to pull off the bell housing. The front (standing in front of the car, facing the firewall – nissan’s way of defining this) mount and the rear mount are set properly, and seem tight. The left side mount (next to pass side strut tower) is the one I suspect. I tried to tighten it like the other ones, but it never seemed right. I didn’t think that I had metal to metal contact, though. While not perfect, it seemed adequate.

So…
Can a bad M-mount cause all this goofy vibration? Never had one go bad before. Are SR20DE’s (w/ solid racing mounts) this vibration prone?

If it is a mount, who sells ‘em (besides Nissan @ $100 a pop)?

Thanks for the help fellow gearheads!
