Nissan Announces North American Sales Channel for GT-R
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. President and CEO Carlos Ghosn today announced that the next generation of Nissan's renowned GT-R performance car will be available in North America and badged as a Nissan model, consistent with its global branding. The GT-R, which was previewed in concept form as the GT-R PROTO, has not previously been offered for sale in North America. The GT-R will debut in production form at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. It is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in fall 2007, followed by the U.S. and Canada in spring 2008. More details on the launch of the GT-R will be available at a later date.
So am I the only one that doesn't think it should be V8? I say stick with the 6cyl, stick with roots of the Skyline. Not saying I have a prob with a TT V8, just not in this car.

Since the unveiling of the GT-R PROTO at last October's Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan has continued development of the legendary GT-R sports coupe. And while details about the next generation GT-R have been few, one important piece of information was made public today.
Mr. Carlos Ghosn, President and CEO of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., kicked-off the New York International Auto Show with the exciting revelation that the GT-R will be sold in the U.S. as the Nissan GT-R.
As part of his keynote address at the International Motor Press Association Breakfast, Mr. Ghosn said that when he unveiled the GT-R PROTO, Nissan had not yet decided whether the GT-R would be sold as a Nissan or an Infiniti in the United States.
Mr. Ghosn also expressed enthusiasm that the heart-pounding GT-R will build on drivers' passion for the Nissan brand.
This communication is first in a series leading up to the launch of the Nissan GT-R. As part of an exclusive group, you will be among the first to receive information and special insights into the development of the Nissan GT-R.

TT V-8 sounds sick, maybe its time to upgrade to v-8,definitly more than a possibily of more potential with v-8, i thought somebody would have done that by now, think about it, why not pull the 5.6 litre engine Nissan has in Titan or Armada and drop into an R34,I know alot of you gonna start hating on this reply but doesn't like a bad idea

That is ridiculous to even say that. The GT-R is the essence of the nissan sport car. The one problem american versions of jap cars is the difference in power plants. Most jap cars have lower liter engines because some taxing orsomething that has to do with the liter of the engine. Where in america we don't have this problem with literage. So the japanease have to add turbo power to there engines and the americans just make the biggest ehgine possible to fit in the car. Even thou these cars have smaller liters and less pistons doesn't mean they are less powerfull. The japanease are geniuses as we all know, the idea of changing what they originally created and totally changing this car would be ridiculous, but what else are americans going to do with a perfectly awseum machine," give it more power!"UGGGGG
Anyway the notion of putting a V8 in a GT-R is stupid, but that's my opion. Just thought i would inform ya'll a bit. It's still a stupid idea and a waste of a good legend.
