it depends on when the car was manufactured and depends on the manufacturer itself. you can't be sure that the "freon" that was used was that of the non toxic type CFC-12 or R-12. especially because a lot of these cars are from the early 90s. but since yours is a 2000, nevermind my earlier post. anyways...just be careful. i learned the hard way.
