I have had the exact same problem on my 98 Sentra SE with the MIL taying lit and the gas pump stopping after a few seconds while filling up.
I replaced the vent control valve and the pump problem is fixed. This was an easy 5 minute job. The part number is 14935-54U04 and ran about $45.
As soon as I can figure how get the MIL to go out I will be a happy racer. Any suggestions on the MIL?
