^Lower compression is better for boost because you can turn it up higher and not have to the head lift or a blown getting a blown head gasket. You can still boost a higher compression motor, you just have to be careful on how high you turn it up.
Each setup is different so it depends on what applications you are running before somebody can tell you what level you can turn it up to. 7lbs. is usually a stock.
