I recently bought a 1982 280ZX turbo with standard shift. The car is stock.

I am interested in doing some performance upgrades that do not include the head/engine work, and would like to ask for recommendations.

1. Should I change the stock airpan-type filter to CIA? What type is recommended? i have a custom built turbo aiir filter set up on mine

2. Would a 240SX 60mm throttle body help?yes that is what i have on my car but it had to made with a backing plate or else

3. The turbo seems to “sit” on the exhaust. Can I upgrade to headers? Any particular brand recommended?im not sure about this

Finally there seems to be no intercooler. Does the 1982 turbo model work with no intercooler? Would it help to add one? Any particular type that fits well? you would have to custom fit it in right in the front and remove the air filter. I put a 32in intercooler on my car and im running 20lbs of boost @ 350HP. All the Pipes would have to be custom bent and you would to remove a couple of things. im planning in putting A big brAKE SYSTEM maybe BREMBO?? but im not sure if it will work
