A VG30/33E is your easiest bet,because the factory built them that way.The Best on would be the supercharged one from a late model Frontier or Exterra.Cheapest thing would be a American V8 I'd prefer a Ford 302 because of it's small size ,front distributor and availability of front or rear sump oil pans.You could also go with a LT1 Chevy.It's short and has a front mount distributor (crankshaft driven Opti-spark).The Small Block Chevy has been the swapper's weapon of choice since the 50's so there are plenty of parts and mount configurations to choose from.
