The problem in your case is a leaking BOV, not whether it's open vented or closed loop. Understand that the BOV only opens when you're throttling down after full boost to protect the turbo.

If you like the noise of an open vented BOV, get an aftermarket unit, otherwise if you like a quiet operation, stay with an OEM.
