I am sure the ve is plenty reliable...underneath all of the valvetrain changes it is still an sr20. A ve motor will run you right up around $2000, and then you need a jwt ecu $600, and a set of slenoid switches to control the vvl, you can get a pair from summit racing for right around $150, you should go with a new upgraded clutch while you are in there too. Other than that, it will use mostly all of your other sr20 parts on the se-r. Or you can go with an sr16ve...same swap procedure, just a little cheaper ($1300 for eng). JGY customs has the engines, and should have everything else you need to complete the ve swap
