90 sentra caliper questions

replaced my front rotors (new) and pads last saturday, the pass. side pads were almost to the metal backing while the drivers side had slightly less than a 1/4" of pad. No pull when braking. Noticed today that when I am coming to a stop the pass. side brakes sound like they are dragging. When I went to reinstall the caliper over the new pads the pin with the rubber cover on it was hard to push in to get the caliper to drop down to line up the bolt holes. Could the rubbing noise I hear be due to the caliper not releasing completely because the caliper can not slide freely on the pins? I've read about using a lubricant on the pins, how do you remove the pins? Should I remove the pins and check them to make sure they are smooth under the boots than lube them? I just bought a tube of Syl-Glide brake grease that I used on the ball on the short shifter I just installed so I can use that to lube the pins. Also when I pushed the caliper pistons back in using the c-clamp both sides compressed like butter so I don't think the pistons are sticking.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks
