93 Sentra SE-R won't start. please HELP!

Sorry for the long post but I want to make sure I explain it as clear as I can.

My gf's 93 Sentra SE-R automatic won't start.

At first I heard some weird noise (sounded like bell noise) from the left side of the engine

when you are facing it from the front of the car.

Then parked the car and see the head lights are kinda dim. Then put it to "D" and the car

stalled.

So, I thought it was the battery, so I jump started it and it started OK. So, I went to get

a new battery. Changed battery and everything works fine.

The next morning, it wouldn't start anymore. I could hear it cranking but not starting. I

thought it was the battery drained due to many starting attempt. So, I hooked it up to a

"battery tester + starter". I hooked the + to + and - to - on the battery (wrong way,

should've hooked - to the chassis), then start the car. it cranked but no start and I smell

some burning smell. Seemed nothing wrong though.

Tried jump start, not working either.
Checked spark plug and I saw spark there (only checked one of them though).
Checked fuel pump and sounded working. I heard some noice when I switch to "ON". Wasn't

sure if it was the fuel pump, so, disconnected relay for fuel pump in engine compartment,

didn't hear that sound anymore. So, assume that was the fuel pump and was working.

Because the weather was cold here in the past few days, thought maybe fuel line froze.

Added some "heat" stuff to the tank and tried a few more start still nothing.
What should I do next? Any indea what's going on?

thanks in advance.
