Keep your paper work. If you get the choice get a long nose starter, there are two styles, don't remember which make is long nose sorry, but it obvious if you compare them. Nose goes round end of the pinion gear.

Please search, there is a "how to" written by me that was then improved on by someone else.

The starter is under the intake and is a bxxxx to get at.
If you find the starter on your 1.6 under Air filter box over the transmission, it is in the same place BUT on the other side of the flywheel/ring gear, so you can't see it.

Its very true what they are saying but if the stater has a dead spot. You can hit it with a long tube and a hammer. But change your hole charging system like battery, altenator,post and battery cables and of course the starter i work at autozone im a manager there so i know.
