it could be, an easy way to test each hub individually is crawl under the frt end and turn the axle shaft ( the one going to the wheel) this should lock the hub in, if they both lock in hop in the truck shift into 4HI drive in a tight circle, the frt end will hop, jump, lurch, because of the tires trying to grab. if it does not you have a problem inside the frt pumpkin or t/case, hopefully not.
if the axles do not lock into the hub this will tell you which hub/s you are having problems with.
the VIN tells you eng, body style and general things. I think there is another place to read the WD21. I'm not proficient enough for direction on this, but I think all PF are WD21, but then I could be wrong on that too.
