Question

Thanks for the reply. I talked the guy at the parts store into a 10% discount and the little thing still cost $205.00 then they got me for another $15 for the little nylon screen filter. I am now waiting on the plastic check valve to come in that i ordered online. I broke the brittle old one when removing it. It will be another$22. Man these little parts are expensive but now i have a lifetime warrantee pump but you have to buy a new screen filter every time you bring the pump in for replacement or the warrantee is void. I cleaned the tank out and took all the old paint off. I welded a couple of pinholes up and then covered the tank with fiberglass resin. I then painted it flat black enamel. The in tank device that the pump mounts to was corroded and i cleaned it with a dremil tool and the wires inside were corroded and not making contact. I soldered a couple of them together. After tearing the old pump apart and watching it work again, it made me wonder why any one would ever invent a fuel pump that pumps gas directly through the windings and brushes of the pump motor. Doesn't this seem like there could be a chance of explosion? lol.
