The obd plug on my 2004 Sentra only links with the ecm in the morning before starting the car. After starting the car even once, it gives a link error from then on. Can't get the car smogged because of it. The problem seems to be the light green k-line wire at the plug. When the plug is communicating, that wire has nearly 12 volts. After starting and stopping the motor, and getting the "link error," that wire only has 1 volt. All other wires are the same whether it's communicating or not. The main red wire has 12 volts and the grounds seem OK.
Has anyone had and resolved this problem? Where does the k-line wire go? I tried tracing it, but it looks like I'll have to tear apart the dash and wiring harness to do that.
Ironically, the car is running great and when the obd does read, it shows the icm (smog) monitors as all ready.
