Noise when slowing down on a 09 Pathy SE

It seems to be in the front area, from 40 MPH down to stop.

sounds "wa wa" , like a bad drive shaft joint, or wheel bearing.

Are drive shaft noises normal or wheel bearing noises normal, on this

Pathy, two wheel drive 76k on the unit.

Doesn't do it from stop going up in speed.

Thanks

Noises aren't "normal," but U-joint and front wheel bearing hub failures are not uncommon on R51 Pathfinders. Usually, the U-joints will cause a vibration; if they are going to make a noise, it would be a high-pitched squeak or a "clunk" when going from PARK or NEUTRAL into a drive gear. But, most of the time it's the vibration that brings attention to them and part of the problem is that they come without grease fittings from the factory, so they can't be greased. The noise you describe "could" be a wheel bearing noise or a tire noise. It probably would be a good idea to have an inspection performed of the front brakes, tires, steering and suspension.
