We are just in the process of buying a new vehicle.
We absolutely LOVE the nissan Pathfinder.

We love the features, We love how peppy it is, we love how amazing the seats feel, we love the ergonomics. It in our mind has beat out the Highlander in almost every way except the second row roll up blinds. The kids love that feature.

My big concern is the Transmission and other issues I have just started hearing about.

I know the 2016 is fairly new so it is hard to know if it will be plagued like the previous models. I know that 2013 was a REALLY bad year but the dealer said 2014 fixed the issues. Is this true?

What are some of the other issues the 2016 is known to have and have there been any that actually been fixed through recalls.

I would also love to hear from real pathfinder owners... How do you like your pathfinders?

Thanks so much for any info you can share!
Have a great day!
:)

The Highlander is a much better vehicle than the R52 Pathfinder, IMO. The transmission problems of the earlier, R51 Pathfinders weren't due to the transmission, itself, but because the trans cooler inside the radiator would fail and cross-contaminate the engine coolant and transmission oil. There is very little in common between the two models. The R52 uses a CVT transmission which have been problematic in several Nissan models. They've also had a lot of infotainment issues, electrical issues and squeak and rattle issues. It has been rated as the lowest vehicle in its class and one of the top 10 worst vehicles by Consumer Reports over the last couple of years. There is an R52 section at the side, TheNissanPath.com, which you might find interesting.
