Great. I've owned the 2.4L truck a few years and a few fender benders. I don't know the service history of this '95 4x2 Automatic ~80k miles. I've only done oil changes, state inspections, and tires. So far, reliable as all get out. She does have fluid leaks. Not wanting to break the bank yet having to pay a tech/garage to perform any services, where might I start....brake fluid tranny fluid changes?....just like to keep it on the road a few more years. Thank you.
Changing the brake fluid won't hurt as long as you can get the bleeders loose without them breaking on you and creating problems. Drain and fill auto trans fluid every 30,000 miles, sticking with NissanMatic Type "D" ATF or a synthetic ATF, like Valvoline Maxlife ATF; don't service it with Dexron III/Mercon. If you use long-life coolant, drain and fill every 60,000 miles. I usually do diff services at 60,000 miles, as well, using synthetic 75W90 gear oil. If you change any ignition parts, like spark plugs and wires, stick with genuine Nissan or NGK parts. Fuel and air filter are typically done every 30,000 miles.
