Seriously, though, it is probably an extra plug for an option your car simply doesn't have. I know some GA16DEs ran a crank position sensor as well as a cam position sensor, but others didn't, so it could possibly be for that. It could also be for the rear O2 sensor. Your best bet is to find out the length of the wire, and look around in the area where it reaches to for a possible culprit that is unattached or not present. Do you have a CEL on?
Ya I did peek around in there and didn't see anything. I'm putting a starter on her car next and was going to take a better look. This car has a few issues so the CEL is on. I just didn't expect to see that with this model. I thought any option would be on the car already.
I put on the starter yesterday and got a better look around. I didn't see anything that was just simply not plugged in. But I did notice were the plug would attached to the car and point. Could it be secondary O2 sensor? Someone did a hack job exhaust and I cant really tell.
could be. although on my gxe (95) the downstream wire comes out of a hole from the cabin under the driver's seat. You might want to look upwards. Air temp sensor, radiator blower fan, or maybe even the upstream O2 sensor.
This came from the main engine harness area. I was just on that side of the car when I took the pic. When I put the starter on I could look better, It would reach to were the downstream would have gone, also there was a clip that would have held it pointing in that direction. The O2 is missing anyways, so I'm going with thats what it is for now. Have to replace a wheel bearing/hub now and then should be getting this done.
