Hi all, I have a 1989 Sentra N13. The car is making a lot of noise from the release bearing so obviously the clutch will need replacing soon. The gearbox is also pretty bad, it has bad syncros and reverse gear is very hard to select so I am looking at replacing both. I can get the parts pretty cheaply, but I'm just wondering what's involved in doing this yourself. It looks pretty easy, but I'm just wondering if someone has done this before and could walk me through step by step. I've never done a clutch/gearbox replacement before, and the only manual I have is Haynes which is pretty useless.

Thanks Guys

Yeah, I've done this repair a couple of times.
I did use a haynes manual and it wasn't so bad.
there's a couple of stickies on here about tranny swaps.
Most of the info will apply.
There was a factory manual download available somewhere
on this site. You will need some room to work and some patience to pull it off.
I would have to say that an impact driver was my best friend.
Getting those bolts off the flywheel was a bitch.
Let us know how it's going. mike k
