Nissan will pull the sheet from the North American-spec GT-R in two weeks time at the 2017 New York Auto Show.

The Track Edition is the third vehicle in the GT-R’s lineup, with Nissan saying that it is meant to strike a balance between a touring car and a race car. It sits above the GT-R Premium in the car’s trim hierarchy, but below the GT-R NISMO, a car which the Track Edition borrows many of its tricks from.

Powering the Track Edition is the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that is used in Premium model, making 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque, sent to all four wheels.

Just about everything else in the Track Edition model comes down from the hot GT-R NISMO. Additional body shell adhesives are used to increase rigidity in the Track Edition, the suspension is retuned by NISMO, weight is stripped out and a set of stickier tires are used. The front fenders are taken straight from the GT-R NISMO along with a carbon fiber rear spoiler.
